Savory Cheesesteak
What You’ll Need:
5 minutes prep | 15 minutes cook
Makes 8-10 Servings
1lb Shaved Steak (this is the one we can get)
1-2 tsp soy sauce (or gluten free alternative)
1-2 tsp pepper
2-4 tsp minced garlic (optional)
1 bag frozen peppers and onion (fresh is great if you have them)
2 small cans of mushrooms (or you can use fresh if you have them)
2oz cream cheese
Shredded Mozzarella for topping if desired
Buns or tortillas as desired - it is tasty on it’s own with a side of veggies too!
Directions:
Brown the shaved steak with soy sauce, pepper and garlic over medium/high heat. If it starts to stick, you can add water. Stir often.
When meat is nearly browned, add the frozen peppers, onion and 2 cans of mushrooms. Stir well and cover for 2-3 minutes.
Uncover and stir well. Add cream cheese. You can cover the mixture again for 1-2 minutes to allow the cream cheese to soften, then mix the cheese in well.
Increase the heat to allow the excess moisture to boil off and the cheese/sauce to thicken around the meat and veggies.
Serve warm and enjoy.
