Zach Porter MA, LPCC-S

Zach earned his Bachelors in Psychology from Morehead State University and then went on to complete his Masters in Professional Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. He is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervisor (LPCC-S) and has his own practice, Elysium Counseling Services.

He admits that his he has a wide variety of interests and passions. He and his wife, Sydnie, have two beautiful children, a Schnauzer named Panzer and a love for living life with hearts full of gratitude. When he’s not working, you can find him (often them) in the gym, gaming, golfing, shooting, running OCRs, playing music, reading/writing sci-fi and fantasy, or in the woods enjoying God’s creation.

When asked why he chose to be part of livableYOU, Zach says, “I feel like so many people who are privileged enough to receive an advanced education take that and leave Appalachia for one reason or another. I believe that Appalachia has a culture that’s unique to anywhere else in the world and I wanted to use my experience, my skills, and my education to help “my people” in some of their darkest times. I want to keep my services affordable for this area, and let people know that medicine can be a solution but shouldn’t be the first and only option provided. I’m so excited to join a group of likeminded professionals who understand that there are holistic options that are empirically proven to be more effective than medication, and bring that knowledge back to Appalachia.”
